At Jubilee Decor, we believe holiday lighting should do more than decorate a space—it should create an unforgettable experience. That’s exactly what we helped bring to life at the Phoenix Zoo’s annual Christmas light show, where our team collaborated with the zoo to transform a towering Christmas tree into a vibrant, music-driven centerpiece.
The result? A decades-inspired Christmas light show that takes visitors on a festive journey from the 1920s through the 2020s, celebrating the evolution of holiday music and lighting design.
The Brief
Designing a Holiday Show that Tells a Story
When the Phoenix Zoo approached us, they wanted something more than a traditional static display. They wanted a dynamic holiday attraction that would captivate families, delight children, and create lasting holiday memories.
Our team partnered with the zoo to design and develop a show that blends music, storytelling, and synchronized lighting into one cohesive experience.
Our Process

Four stages took the show from a first storyboard to a synchronized performance the zoo’s team can run all season long.
Creative Storyboarding
Mapping out how each decade’s music would influence the lighting design and visual rhythm.
Sound Design
Carefully selecting and sequencing Christmas songs spanning a century of holiday classics.
Lighting Programming
Synchronizing the music with thousands of lights on the tree to create a dazzling visual performance.
Collaborative Production
Working alongside the Phoenix Zoo’s team to ensure the show could be seamlessly operated throughout the holiday season.
