Designing Oxford’s Christmas Light Show with Purpose and Pride
Every year, Oxford, Mississippi embraces the holiday season with festive spirit, but in 2023, the City of Oxford’s Parks & Recreation Department envisioned something bigger—something that would truly bring the community together. That’s when they partnered with Jubilee Decor to reimagine mTrade Park as a destination holiday experience.
Our team began with a blank canvas. We worked closely with city leaders to understand their goals, their local culture, and how they wanted visitors to feel as they entered the space. This phase wasn’t just about lights—it was about telling a story through custom design. We incorporated local flavor into every element, from the towering Christmas tree to a walk-in baseball ornament that honored Oxford’s love of sports. A glowing walkthrough snowman, oversized stars, and a brilliant “Oxford” lighted sign were designed for both beauty and interactivity.
Behind the scenes, our design and fabrication team engineered the displays using Masson Fiberglass, ensuring each piece would withstand weather and last for years. Planning layouts, mapping foot traffic, and building each element with care was all part of creating something more than a light show—it was a hometown celebration in the making.

Oxford, MS Christmas Events Come Alive at mTrade Park
When the season officially began in late November, mTrade Park was no longer just a recreational space—it had become a winter wonderland. Thousands of twinkling lights, immersive tunnels, and themed displays came to life under the stars. Guests entered through the Walk of Lights, a captivating path showcasing Oxford’s landmarks and community spirit, and were immediately transported into the magic of Christmas.
Children laughed under changing lights, couples took selfies in front of the glowing Oxford sign, and families gathered by cozy fire pits for hot chocolate and s’mores. The displays—now fully installed and perfectly timed—guided foot traffic intuitively, offering new surprises around every corner. The show wasn’t static; it responded, it flowed, it invited people to stay and enjoy.
Signature elements of the event included:
- A full-sized outdoor ice skating rink
- Photo ops with Santa Claus on select nights
- Live music and local performances adding to the ambiance
- Interactive displays perfect for kids and grown-ups alike
